The Digital Duckroom
on the intradweeb, you can't escape your past
For some reasons, we were talking about our first animations at work, and I realized that the first piece of computer animation I have ever done is actually on YouTube (there is really all kinds of stuff out there in the internet). I have no idea how it got there, and whoever uploaded it didn't seem to know either...
A computer animated short animated somewhere in Montreal (I think). This was featured as one of YTV's Short Circutz in the mid-90's, except this is the original version. Apologies for the poor quality.
I also apologize for the poor quality, but Luca Prasso and I were quite young when we did this short piece in 1991 (actually after doing a bit of math, really, really young). Apparently, the short got a bit of a following because it was part of some early Computer Graphics anthologies, and got played for a few years as a filler between shows on YTV.
The Digital Duckroom (1991)
For the record, the version above is the one we actually animated, but the remixed version from Short Circutz below is the one people remember.
Oh and thanks to everyone that left these comments on YouTube, I'm touched...
LOL this in my opinion was one of the most memorable shorts on YTV. It's probably been about 10 years that have passed since the first time I saw this one, and I never forgot the tune that plays in the background.
i think i may cry... i used to talk about this all the time but i never thought i'd see it again.
I totally remember this. For some strange reason the room with the teapot machine really scared me when I was young.
I saw this when i was about 10 and just remembered the name of the dvd now...imaginaria. damn i love it.
wow i remember this i was like 4-5 or somehthing maybe even younger!
I was only about 2-4 but I remember this! I remember alot of the old vids.
Did I mentioned I was really, really young when I worked on this, and that it was my first animation? ;-)
