The Art of Alex Cherry
Of Sound And Vision
I would have liked Alex Cherry's online portfolio, Of Sound And Vision based on the quality of his artwork, which mixes digital and analog techniques with great flair, but the fact that he uses songs as his inspiration add a very interesting dimension to his work.
The online portfolio of LA artist Alex Cherry threw us for kind of a
loop when we first happened across it. Something about the titles
nagged at the back of our minds, hinting at a common thread. Then it
hit us: song titles. Most, if not all (we don't listen to Converge etc.
so how would we know?) of his images are named after, and inspired by,
song titles. It took two Radiohead titles to finally turn on the lights
for us.
I've selected the images inspired by the following songs below:
Miss Murder from DecemberUnderground by AFI
Aenema from Aenima by Tool
Moth (I don't fly around your fire anymore) from Revelations by Audioslave
Eagles become Vultures from You Fail Me by Converge
