The Voco Clock
We all deserve a little admiration in the morning
Featuring the seemingly unflappable yet stiffed-upper-lipped voice of Stephen Frye, the Voco clock is a talking alarm clock. Every morning, it will lure you away from sleep with a gentle birdsong, a discreet cough and the words "Good Morning, Sir" followed by one of 50 brilliantly witty utterances from your own electronic British butler:
I'm so sorry to disturb you, Sir, but it appears to be morning. Very inconvenient, I agree. I believe it is the rotation of the earth that is to blame Sir. [listen]
There is even a "Good Morning, Madam" version for ladies, which should be available late this Spring, with a different set of gender appropriate compliments:
Good Morning, Madam. The current issue of Vogue has devoted its editorial to your sense of style, purpose, beauty and personal grandeur. It may be advisable to use the rear entrance today, Madam, to avoid the crowds. [listen]
I have to say that I'm not too sure about the clock itself, but thankfully the people at Voco have released 20 of their messages under a Creative Commons license, allowing you to uses them in your own devices. I've already downloaded a few on my phone, and they are perfect as alternate wake-up mess messages for Nabazoux my Wifi rabbit.
You can order the clock from their website for £29.50 (about $60 USD) or license the entire sound library to use on your own devices for £7.50 (less than $15 USD). Because we all deserve to be woken up with a little admiration in the morning.
