Restaurant Bijan

Authentic Malaysian Cuisine in Kuala Lumpur

Restaurant BijanThis was another find, while in Kuala Lumpur. We were looking to experience local food, and I don't think we could've done better than going to Bijan that evening. Set in a beautifully restored traditional Malaysian house, in the middle of a lush garden with water features blocking the sounds, you wouldn't think that you are in the middle of busy Kuala Lumpur.

Bijan (bee-jahn): 1. Malay for sesame. — 2. a modern restaurant that specializes in fine Malay cuisine.

The food was as good as it looked, and the presentation was superb. We ended up sharing the Redang Daging (Dry beef curry cooked in an aromatic infusion of spices over a slow fire for several hours), Daging Panggang Dengan Air Assam (Slices of chargrilled marinated Australian sirloin, served with a spicy tamarind dip & sambal belacan ) and Siakap Limau Purut (Grilled Seabass with Chilli and Lime).
