The sculptural bling of Christine J. Brandt

I saw one of her rings in New Zealand magazine URBIS. The work of Christine J. Brandt is absolutely amazing. She combine rare woods and semi-precious stones into these incredibly sculptural rings and necklaces.
Christine's pieces are finished in as natural a state as possible: the wood is never stained or varnished, but burnished and hand-rubbed with several coats of natural Danish oil to bring out the grain and natural colors in the wood. The semi-precious stones and minerals found in her designs are all completely unique formations in their own matrix, meaning they are not cut, polished or dyed, but are as they are found in nature.
Each ring is a unique combination of a mineral and a vegetal, like ebony and amethist, or rose quartz and brazillian cherry. The result, which sells for around $2000 to $3000 USD is literally a wearable work of art.
