Urwerk 103.05 ultra limited edition Watch
The closest thing to a piece of metal being sexy... and polished by himalayan goats

Made in Geneva by Urwerk in extremely small batches, the
103.05 Watch feature their unique cross-arm movement. Instead
of the traditional circular display, the hours are inscribed on four
spinning satellite disks, and the minutes are etched in a semi-circle along the side of
the watch. And of course in the great swiss watchmaking tradition, the entire thing is completely mechanical, self-powered and filled with delicate hand-crafted and hand-machined parts.
With their exclusive 103.05, URWERK extend the
concept of opening their ingenious orbiting satellite to the heavens.
The large targa crystal is now enhanced with the addition of a
revealing elliptical window each side of the streamlined body making
for a more ethereal looking watch. The futuristic form of the case
highlights the strong influence space travel and fast jets have had on
URWERK’s already classic design.
There
are, of course, no prices mentioned anywhere on the site, probably
because if you have to ask, you probably can't afford one anyway. From what I could find on the net, the price range is similar to an italian sportcar, with the exclusive models made in series of 10 for around $110,000 USD, and the "Grand Public"
edition of the standard platinium is limited to 50 units, and sells at a more affordable $90,000 USD. As a final quote, here's an excerpt from the specifications:
Finishing taken from traditional 18th century watchmaking - while projecting it firmly into the 21st century - the parts are micro-sandblasted and then polished with himalayan goat hair.
Hmm! himalayan goat hair how exclusive is that? I can only hope that the case if first micro-sandblasted with fine silica sand from some secluded beach in Fiji, picked by young virgin and wrapped in rose petals. Oh! the decadent luxury...
